Milking Parlor Operator

Position: Milking Parlor Operator Key Responsibilities: - Operate the automatic goat milking parlor in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) - Ensure all milking systems and equipment are functioning efficiently before, during, and after milking - Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot minor issues, and coordinate with the maintenance team when required - Supervise, train, and coach the milking team on proper milking procedures, hygiene, and animal welfare practices - Implement and oversee cleaning and sanitation procedures, including the Clean-in-Place (CIP) system - Monitor milk quality and support mastitis prevention and somatic cell count reduction programs - Coordinate with the Farm Manager and Veterinarian regarding sick animals, animals under treatment, and those excluded from milking - Prepare daily reports on milking operations, milk production, equipment performance, and overall operational activities What We're Looking For: - Experience operating automated milking systems (preferably in dairy goat or dairy livestock farms) - Knowledge of milk hygiene, animal welfare, and dairy farm operations - Leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise a team - Basic technical troubleshooting skills and experience using farm or milking management software
