Civil Engineer

KBM Engineering Consultancy is looking to hire a qualified professional for the following position: Position: Civil Engineer Minimum Education, Qualifications & Skills: Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Experience: 6+ years in a similar role Special Skills & Knowledge: Design, Planning, Execution, Tender & Contract Other Requirements: Knowledge and Understanding of Asset Management, HSE Management System and IT Security Management Standards according to ISO55001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 27001 to carry out the assigned duties as per the roles and responsibilities matrix Role Objective: To support the Projects Department through technical and management skills to deliver projects on time, to the quality required and in line with the design. Key Responsibilities: - Monthly, weekly and daily review and follow up of the Civil Project Plan for individual project timelines and activities carried out by the contractor and consultant - Organise and manage civil project review with Contractors and Consultants as required - Check and review consultants and contractors invoices for each individual project - Review civil document specifications including drawings to ensure civil specification is in line with requirements - Visit sites to monitor progress and report all findings and raise discrepancies where necessary - Coordination with other departments to ensure their requirements are captured in civil projects - Follow all regulations as stipulated by Government and OETC - Handle all variations and operation time extension cases when they arise - Respond to any specification change after project commencement and ensure costs are kept to a minimum - Ensure all projects are of the highest quality in line with civil quality standards and that relevant technical knowledge is included into all aspects of the job - Ensure HSE plan is in place at project commencement and is followed for the duration of the project - Make recovery plans and ensure they are acted upon by Contractors for any HSE inconsistencies - Supporting Planning and Design team to review cost estimations and project time line - Support Design Team for Tendering and evaluation of consultancy and EPC civil tenders - Supporting Load Related Projects Team for major projects - Providing input for monthly progress report - Providing ad hoc information to support all civil projects as and when required - Sharing skills and experience with colleagues and supporting development of others through coaching where possible
