Shaft Civil Supervisor

We are hiring a Shaft Civil Supervisor for the Riyadh Metro Line 2, Tunnel Section. This role requires experience in shaft construction and underground works, with a preference for candidates who have a background in metro or rail tunnel projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising and coordinating daily NATM tunnel excavation and support activities, including sequential excavation, shotcreting, rock bolting, and steel rib/lattice girder installation.
- Ensuring construction activities align with approved drawings, method statements, and NATM design specifications.
- Monitoring excavation sequences, support installation, and convergence/monitoring instrumentation to maintain safety and ground stability.
- Enforcing site safety protocols and ensuring compliance with HSE requirements for underground and confined space works.
- Coordinating with geotechnical engineers on ground behavior monitoring and making support adjustments based on data.
- Liaising with QA/QC teams to ensure timely inspections, shotcrete testing, and addressing non-conformance reports.
- Supervising labor, subcontractors, and equipment on NATM tunnel drives to optimize productivity and resources.
- Maintaining daily site records, progress reports, and updating the site engineer/section manager on work progress and issues.
- Monitoring material delivery, storage, and usage at tunnel sites.
- Participating in daily/weekly site coordination meetings and toolbox talks.
- Ensuring compliance with the project schedule and supporting planning teams with progress input.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 8–10 years of civil construction supervision experience, with at least 3–5 years specifically in NATM tunneling works.
- Prior experience on metro, rail, or major underground/tunnel infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of NATM excavation sequences, ground support systems, shotcrete application, and convergence monitoring.
- Familiarity with confined space entry, ventilation, and underground works HSE requirements.
- Good communication skills and the ability to supervise multicultural site teams.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting civil/structural and geotechnical drawings.
