Sr. Protection Engineer – Testing & Commissioning (T&C)

KBM Engineering Consultancy is looking to hire a qualified professional for the following position: Sr. Protection Engineer – Testing & Commissioning (T&C) in Oman. Minimum Requirements: Education: Degree in Power System Experience: 6+ years in Power Utility Protection field Conditions: - The proposed Expert must be consultant's own employee, not outsourced - The proposed Expert to be assessed and accepted by Protection Department Special Skills & Knowledge: - Experience in testing and commissioning of extra high voltage transmission systems - CT, CVT, VT and secondary circuit Testing and related testing kits - Capable of relay configuration and deep understanding of relay algorithms - Sufficient knowledge and experience in relays testing - Familiarization with modern relays, testing kits, automated testing, reporting - Main & backup Protection relays configuring and testing, and related testing kits - Line and cable differential & distance relay end to end test - Bus Bar, transformer and reactors stability test and trip matrix test Key Responsibilities: - Site witness of Protection system testing and commissioning - Ensure quality of the Protection testing and commissioning - Represent OETC and witness protection system testing activities till station commissioning - Ensure approved scheme and documents are implemented on site - Ensure proper implementation of relay configuration and setting - Review and approve the protection testing and commissioning schedules and plans - Review and approve protection testing result reports - Coordination with the relays manufacturer and panel builders to resolve issues - Provide Daily progress report and updates - Ensure compliance with HSE guidelines and regulations
