Role Objective Oman Air is on an ambitious transformation journey to strengthen its competitive position, restore sustainable profitability, and modernize its operations across the enterprise. At the heart of this transformation is a rigorous financial discipline and evidence-based decision-making culture. The Vice President – Financial Planning & Analysis (VP FP&A) is a critical senior leadership role within the Finance Division. The incumbent will serve as the principal advisor to the CFO and the broader Executive Leadership Team on all matters related to financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision support. The VP FP&A will drive the evolution of the FP&A function from a traditional reporting unit to a fully digitized, insight-driven, and forward-looking centre of excellence that enables Oman Air to make faster, more confident, and more profitable strategic decisions. Area of Responsibility Oman Air's transformation program is anchored on revenue growth, cost optimization, operational excellence, and digital enablement. The VP FP&A will play a defining role in all four pillars by: • Embedding a robust financial planning architecture that links strategy to execution • Providing the analytical rigor required to evaluate route profitability, transformation initiatives, and investments. • Championing the digitization of the FP&A function through modern planning tools, automation, and self-service dashboards. • Building a high-performing FP&A team capable of serving as true business partners across the airline. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities A. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting • Lead the end-to-end annual budget and medium-term financial planning processes across all business units and cost centers. • Develop and maintain a rolling forecast model that reflects the dynamic nature of the aviation sector, incorporating fuel prices, capacity changes, yield trends, and macro-economic variables. • Design and implement a zero-based budgeting (ZBB) approach where applicable to instill cost discipline and accountability across the organization. • Ensure alignment of financial plans with Oman Air's strategic objectives and present consolidated plans to the senior leadership. B. Decision Support & Business Partnering • Act as a trusted financial advisor to the C-suite, and business unit heads, delivering timely, accurate, and actionable financial insights. • Lead financial evaluation of strategic initiatives including new route launches, fleet acquisition decisions, code-share agreements, and ancillary revenue programs. • Develop robust business case frameworks and investment appraisal models to support capital allocation decisions. • Partner with Commercial, Operations, Engineering, HR, IT and SCM leadership to embed financial discipline in day-to-day decisions. • Prepare Board-level and investor-facing financial presentations, management reports, and commentary. C. Performance Management & Reporting • Establish a comprehensive management reporting framework covering KPIs, variance analysis, and exception-based reporting. • Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reviews with actionable corrective insights • Benchmark Oman Air's financial performance against peer carriers and industry benchmarks (IATA, CAPA) and communicate findings to senior leadership D. Digitization & Process Efficiency • Lead the digital transformation of the FP&A function, including the evaluation and implementation of modern Enterprise Performance Management (EPM). • Automate manual, repetitive FP&A processes to significantly reduce cycle times and improve data accuracy. • Build self-service financial dashboards and analytics capabilities enabling non-finance stakeholders to access real-time financial intelligence.
