Based in Germany and the US, we have brought together the top scientific and engineering minds using proven technologies to unlock fusion power at commercial scale. Focused Energy is working to realize game-changing scientific innovation that promises to deliver a clean, sustainable and abundant source of power globally.
Focused Energy is looking for a Working Student to join the Laser Project Management Office (PMO). You'll support project governance, reporting, and process development, help run day-to-day project execution activities like retrospectives, reviews, and weekly meetings, and keep project documentation accurate and accessible for stakeholders. You'll also get the chance to run small-scope projects yourself, end to end, as their “project CEO.” This is a role for a student who wants real exposure to how a technical organization plans, tracks, and delivers complex work.

Facilitate recurring project meetings, ensuring they remain focused and productive.
Maintain up-to-date project documentation and ensure stakeholders receive the information they need, when they need it.
Take ownership of small-scope projects, managing them end to end as the "project CEO" for your area.
Help identify process gaps and propose improvements to how projects are tracked and reported.
Promptly flag risks, blockers, and open decisions to the PMO lead.
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Physics, Optics/Photonics, Laser Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
