Assistant Manager Procurement (Strategic Sourcing)

We are urgently hiring for an Assistant Manager Procurement (Strategic Sourcing) for one of our clients. Responsibilities: - Develop and execute procurement strategies for assigned raw material and packaging categories. - Manage supplier negotiations, pricing evaluations, quotations, and long-term purchasing agreements to achieve competitive commercial terms. - Identify and develop new suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing vendors to ensure reliable sourcing. - Oversee local and international procurement activities, including import documentation, shipment coordination, payment arrangements, and customs clearance. - Monitor market trends, commodity prices, exchange rates, and logistics costs to identify cost-saving opportunities and minimize procurement risks. - Coordinate with production, planning, quality, and technical teams to ensure timely availability of materials according to business requirements. - Maintain appropriate inventory levels by balancing procurement schedules with operational demand and minimizing supply disruptions. - Identify potential supply chain risks and implement sourcing strategies to ensure uninterrupted material availability. - Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. - Manage category budgets, monitor purchasing expenditure, evaluate cost savings, and prepare procurement performance reports for management. Requirements: - MBA or a related field. - Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, preferably within the manufacturing industry. - Strong experience in raw material sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management. - Knowledge of international procurement, import procedures, and shipping documentation. - Understanding of market trends, commodity pricing, and foreign exchange fluctuations. - Experience with ERP systems and procurement reporting.
